The CSG Aerospace division of the CSG Group has expanded its augmented reality capabilities with the acquisition of smARtoo, a startup that develops solutions to support field workers, particularly in maintenance. The purchase price remains undisclosed. This strategic acquisition integrates smARtoo’s offerings with Pocket Virtuality’s augmented reality solutions. Pocket Virtuality, a key member of the CSG Aerospace division, is now positioned as a leader in the Czech augmented reality market.
Development teams at Pocket Virtuality and smARtoo have collaborated for several months on a revolutionary product, Lumnio, which synergizes the benefits of both companies‘ technologies. This product facilitates remote service operations, allowing less experienced technicians to perform complex tasks under remote guidance from experts, thereby minimizing the need for travel and enhancing operational efficiency.
Lumnio combines augmented reality with elements of machine learning and offers a significant feature by digitizing service manuals and repair procedures. This capability not only streamlines maintenance processes but also efficiently transfers know-how in industries facing a shortage of qualified professionals. Representatives of Pocket Virtuality have openly expressed global ambitions for the wide applications of this technology.
Robert Paskovský, a key figure at smARtoo, shares insights on the genesis of the partnership with CSG: „After recognizing the global potential of smARtoo, we transitioned from seeking venture capital to engaging with strategic investors, culminating in our integration with CSG’s Aerospace division. This merger has not only expanded our technological horizons but also fused a dynamic team of developers from both companies.“

The next phase of our strategy focuses on expanding our reach beyond domestic borders, leveraging advanced AR and AI technologies.“
The primary aim of the upcoming Lumnio solution is to enhance the efficiency of service workers. By using smart glasses or even a regular mobile phone, workers can access specific instructions on how to perform tasks without the need to refer to a manual physically. In scenarios that require more expertise, a more experienced colleague can provide remote guidance during the task.
Lumnio utilizes cutting-edge augmented reality and artificial intelligence to simplify and optimize the work of service technicians. For instance, it can suggest optimal work procedures based on image analysis or detect faults and verify the correctness of performed tasks. Additionally, with the global market in view, developers are enhancing Lumnio with a language translator feature that facilitates voice communication among workers speaking different languages.
„We will deliver Lumnio as a Software as a Service (SaaS) product, significantly reducing the initial investment needed to adopt our solution. Often, the use of augmented reality tools is hindered by the need for expensive, specialized glasses. Our new product overcomes this barrier as it is compatible with various types of hardware and functions well on common mobile phones or tablets,“ explains Bohuslav Paule, emphasizing the practical advantages of the Lumnio solution.
Initially, Lumnio will be launched in the Czech and Slovak markets. Plans are underway to extend its availability internationally.
„For our global expansion, we aim to leverage a network of local partners. Lumnio will also be accessible on major app stores including Google Play, Apple Store, and Microsoft Store. We are nearing the final stages of readiness for market release. Based on our market research, Lumnio has substantial potential, and by 2028, we expect to generate an annual revenue of 250 million Czech crowns,“ adds Bohuslav Paule.
